Carroll Muffett is President of the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL), a nonprofit organization that uses the power of law to protect the environment, promote human rights, and ensure a just and sustainable society. He is co-author of CIEL’s Fueling Plastics series, which examines the linkages between fossil fuels and the global plastics crisis, and a contributor to CIEL’s reports on the climate and health impacts of the plastics lifecycle. Most recently, he co-authored Pandemic Crisis, Systemic Decline, which examines how the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated and exacerbated the long-term decline in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.
