The Geneva Trade Platform will support the World Trade Organization (WTO) Public Forum in 2021 through Geneva Trade Week (GTW), centered around a virtual conference center. The goal is to enhance the Public Forum experience, especially for those unable to attend in person, while leaving the focus squarely on the Public Forum’s many outstanding sessions.
Last year the Covid -19 pandemic prevented the from hosting its annual Public Forum, and so the Geneva Trade
Platform stepped up with the first GTW, providing an online home to more than sixty sessions viewed over 10,000 times and attended by 3,000 participants from all over the world. With the Public Forum returning, GTW can shift from a substitution role to a supporting and enhancement one.
In close communication with the WTO Secretariat and other actors in Geneva, GTW will offer spaces and initiatives that make the Public Forum even more accessible and exciting.
